Age ratings
How this relates to my own work
After learning about the different BBFC age ratings for films, i think that for my horror piece I think that my age rating should be of an age 15 or 18. This is because it is a horror film and so there will be some inappropriate content such as: language and gore.
The Woman in Black franchise
For the first 'The Woman in Black' films, the age rating is of a '12/12a', but this is altered for their second film 'The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death, which is of an age rating of an '15'.
This is due to many aspects of the film but also can be identified from these dvd covers or posters. The second poster is a lot scarier than the first due to the woman's face being on show and there being a small boy sitting below her. These features could cause children younger than 15 to become scared or frightened and so putting the age rating as a '15' could be the best decision. |
