Video of Blood Making and Testing
|
This video shows the task we took part in where we made fake blood using a variety of different items of food. We also tested the blood by throwing it at Tom to see what density was the most realistic for any scenario in a film or film trailer. |
These are the examples of the blood we created:
Jam, Washing Up liquid & Red food dye
Ketchup, Red food dye & Corn-Flour
Washing Up liquid & Red food dye
Icing Sugar, Water & Red food dye
Evaluation
From making and testing fake blood, I have learned that different ingredients added to create the fake blood can have an effect on how the blood will appear like at the end of the experiment.
For example: adding Icing Sugar, Water and Red food dye together, not only means the blood has a lot more liquid in it that the other fake bloods, it also an edible fake blood and can be used in more scenarios.

How this research links to my work
This research on making and testing fake blood helped me to gather knowledge for when I make my own fake blood for a horror film trailer.
If I had to use one of these blood types, I would use the edible one (Icing Sugar, Water and red food Dye) as it would look very effective.
